Job summary
Help us define the Linux kernel technology strategy. The Red Hat Product Management team is looking for a Principal Product Manager to join us in Westford, MA. In this role, you will work closely with the Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat OpenStack, Red Hat Storage, and Red Hat Virtualization Product Management teams, engineering, and ecosystem partners to formulate a solid kernel roadmap for Red Hat. You'll participate in the overall product and go to market strategies while getting input from customers, analysts, the open source community, and internal stakeholders to promote the delivery of innovative solutions to market. You will also define personas, use cases, and market-based requirement product solutions for enterprise-level offerings.
Primary job responsibilities
Work with Product Managers to determine market requirements for a successful product, including conducting competitive analysis, interviewing customers, ecosystem partners and documenting use cases
Work with Product Engineering to develop and user stories from those requirements and upstream project activity as part of the product specification process
Develop a kernel technology roadmap, including scaling, performance tuning, debugging, memory management and updating technologies
Work closely with upstream communities and the Product Engineering team to determine product priorities, plan product releases, and maintain product roadmaps
Work closely with the Product Marketing team to develop positioning and marketing strategy; act as an evangelist to inform and educate the product's user community
Maintain solid relationships and stay in regular communication with the Sales, Professional Services, Quality Engineering, and Customer Support teams
Required skills
10-15 years of experience with enterprise technologies like operating systems, virtualization, and containers
Working knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or other open source distributions
Thorough understanding of upstream dynamics in the Linux kernel project
Experience working with startups and fast-paced innovators
Excellent written and verbal communication skills including blogging and use of social media
Willingness to travel up to 15%
Prior experience with the Agile development process is preferred
Experience working in an open source company is a plus

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
