Job summary
Define, position, and guide the financial services industry (FSI) insurance product marketing strategy for Red Hat. The Red Hat Vertical Solutions team is looking for a Principal Product Marketing Manager to join us in Westford, MA. In this role, you will create content to help the sales and partner teams further accelerate their success in one of today's hottest technology markets. You'll help establish a clear understanding of target customers, competition, business drivers, and selling motions to your sales channels and work across teams to design innovative marketing programs to guide customer and channel demand. As a Principal Product Marketing Manager, you will work cross-functionally and globally with numerous teams, including Product Management, Campaign Marketing, Technical Marketing, Partner Management, Field Marketing, Channel Marketing, Engineering, Sales, and Professional Services teams. You'll conduct research, craft market strategies, and develop content to support demand generation, and enable field sales and Red Hat FSI channel partners. You'll be in charge of developing, communicating, and implementing activities to align with the ambitious business plan. We want you to help us scale this rapidly growing business. The preferred work locations are the Red Hat offices in Westford or Boston, MA, or Durham or Raleigh, NC. However, well qualified, home-based candidates will also be considered. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
Primary job responsibilities
Help us tell stories that resonate with the field and with our customers to help lead the FSI insurance business
Create effective marketing assets and content, including presentations, case studies, solutions briefs, web content, data sheets, and sales kits that can be used globally
Jointly create technical marketing collateral with technical marketing managers, engineers, and field marketing teams, including technical presentations, whitepapers, and case studies
Collaborate with product management teams to ensure that marketing plans align with directions and support product roadmaps and releases
Create concise and compelling core messaging for our solutions and offerings that embodies their key attributes, including clear value propositions, use cases, and differentiation
Participate in technical aspects of go to market engagements like roadshows, workshops, webinars, solutions demos, and industry and partner events
Support engagements where required in high-touch accounts worldwide by collaborating with field sales and services teams
Work with alliance and ecosystem partners to develop joint value propositions
Develop and deliver enablement and training activities for the Sales team
Collaborate with other product teams to create multi-product and multi-solution marketing materials that address customer use cases and challenges
Required skills
3-5 years of FSI insurance product marketing experience; experience with content development and campaign development is a big plus
5-10 years of software industry experience, preferably within an area of infrastructure, middleware, cloud, or virtualization
Solid understanding of the common technical language of cloud, DevOps, security, and middleware space
Bachelor's degree in marketing, engineering, computer science, or a related area; MBA is a plus
Record of success in a fast-paced technical environment
Solid content writing skills for e-books, whitepapers, solutions briefs, and scripts for videos and presentations
Ability to translate technology features into customer benefits, develop proof points and value propositions for our offerings, and create high-value assets to communicate and promote our solutions internally and externally
Experience with content creation and the ability to create messaging and positioning based on conversations with more technical stakeholders
Solid verbal communication and presentation skills; experience presenting to medium to large audiences
Ability and experience working in a persuasion-driven, cross-functional environment with minimal supervision
Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks at once in a highly complex environment
Critical-thinking skills with a demonstrated ability to develop creative solutions
Willingness to travel over 25%, especially if working as a remote worker
Domain knowledge of and experience with open source projects is a plus
Pragmatic marketing experience is an advantage

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
