Job summary
Play a critical part in making the documentation for Red Hat's enterprise solutions portfolio a competitive differentiator. The Red Hat Customer Content Services team is looking for an Associate Content Strategist to join the Red Hat OpenShift Product Documentation team in Raleigh, NC or Westford, MA. In this role, you will oversee the creation and implementation of a comprehensive strategy that defines content standards to support key business objectives and develop strategies for achieving these standards. You?ll define processes and policies to enable rapid adoption of new content specifications in response to stakeholder and customer demand. As an Associate Content Strategist, you will work closely with our product management and product marketing teams, engineering and development teams, content services teams, and our customer experience teams to ensure that our content meets the needs of all internal stakeholders and provides outstanding customer experience.
Primary job responsibilities
+ Establish or assist in establishing consistent content plans that are supported by all stakeholders, including product management, product marketing, field teams, support services, and the content development teams; the plans should include a standard set of content to be produced for each product release, the structure of each book or piece of content
+ Provide guidance to writers about documentation best practices as needed
+ Curate content for display on the product page in the Red Hat website for each product release
+ Act as a single point of contact for, or assist a more senior content strategist with, stakeholder communications, provide phase exit or release milestone sign-off to program management teams, report status, negotiate changes to deliverables and schedules, communicate about and get buy-in for the content plan from all stakeholders
+ Negotiate with and get agreement from the product documentation program managaer (DPM) on the highest priority content to be delivered; conduct regular checkpoints with DPM on how that content is being developed and delivered and drive alignment between content produced and the customer requirements
+ Create an open working relationship with writers, influence and facilitate the adoption of content plans by writers
+ Conduct competitive analysis and review usage metrics to provide recommendations on content standards, content improvements, and content gaps
+ Incorporate feedback from customers and other stakeholders into continual improvement efforts of content and of processes and standards
+ Work with Support Product Leads team to define "content readiness" for new product releases and to review content highlights and challenges during quarterly service reviews or program meetings
+ Understand the role of content in the success of a product
Required skills
+ 3+ years of experience working with enterprise software documentation as a technical writer, information architect, or content strategist
+ Bachelor's degree in English, technical writing, communication, or a closely related field
+ Familiarity with structured, topic-based authoring and information architecture
+ Experience in the enterprise software industry, including understanding of the customer life cycle
+ Knowledge of different content development and publishing methodologies, tools, and defect-tracking systems
+ Experience with agile and comfort with rapid iteration and fast delivery
+ Experience working with diverse sets of stakeholders to solve complex problems
+ Ability to persuade people irrespective of their function
+ Willingness to travel up to 25%
+ Familiarity with Red Hat's enterprise solutions portfolio and related industry offerings is a plus
+ Ability to read, write, and compile technical documents, including feature descriptions, customer use cases, and release notes using industry best practices is a plus

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
