Materion Precision Optics (MPO) is one of the world's largest providers of precision thin film coatings and optical filters. Develops and delivers training and communications on company safety practices. Acts as the company resource for all activities that may potentially impact the environment or health and safety of the workforce. Has direct overall general responsibility for all EH&S Management and Compliance.
Advocates for processes and work practices that minimize potential harm to the health and safety of employees and visitors.
Establishes and maintains environmental, safety- and health-related metrics.
Investigate and address safety problems and environmental upsets. Monitor and inspect operations, equipment, facilities and work habits to detect hazardous conditions and practices, and recommend corrective or proactive actions to assure the safety of employees and protection of the environment.
Maintain the proper and timely distribution of product MSDS's. Keep customers informed on EH&S Management Systems and other related issues. Writes and updates product MSDS's for Precision Coatings
Keep current and interpret all Federal, State and Local Laws, Regulations Ordinance and Standards. Assure facilities compliance with all regulations. Analyze future regulatory trends and developments.
Develops company safety trainings and manages implementation and delivery.
Assesses and implements required OSHA safety programs as needed.
Responsible for all safety-related recordkeeping and reporting to applicable government agencies. Keep current and interpret all Federal, State and Local Laws, Regulations Ordinance and Standards. Assure facilities compliance with all regulations. Analyze future regulatory trends and developments.
Controls and monitors chemical inventory.
Oversee the management, handling storage and shipment of Hazardous Waste generated. Assure that all aspects of this management are in total compliance with all Federal, State and Local Laws.
Coordinates training for First Responders, emergency situations, and waste handling per Department of Environmental Protection and Environmental Protection Agency.
Monitors air and groundwater emissions per Clean Air Act and Clean Water Act.
Procures environmental permits as needed.

Minimum requirement is an Associate Degree in one of following: Environmental Management; Industrial Hygiene; Chemistry or related disciplines. Bachelors degree is preferred.
5+ years related experience and/or training in OSHA, EPA regulations, and reporting requirements.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
