Job summary
Oversee a team of technical writers. The Red Hat Customer Content Services team is looking for an Associate Manager to join us in Westford. MA. In this role, you will manage a team that plays a critical role in Red Hat's value proposition, enabling customers to adopt our solutions and achieve their technical and business goals. You'll collaborate with your peers around the world to shape and guide our strategic initiatives for developing customer-centric content. You'll guide the work and direction of your team to create content that is technical, engaging, and easy to use. As an Associate Manager, you'll demonstrate leadership and apply your own technical writing experience to inspire, motivate, and develop your team members.
Primary job responsibilities
+ Provide direction, coaching, and mentoring to increase your team's capabilities and effectiveness, develop their competencies, and ensure they are meeting the goals and expectations of their role
+ Partner with documentation program managers and content strategists to motivate and enable your team to meet project goals
+ Organize and coach your team to effectively meet customer needs and company goals
+ Work with your peers to understand global staffing needs, the required skills and experience to fill those needs, and how to identify these skills in candidates when hiring
+ Coordinate with your peers globally to ensure collaboration and consistency with content tasks
+ Promote cross-functional coordination between technical writers and customer-facing technical associates across the company
Required skills
+ Experience working as a technical writer in an enterprise software organization
+ Experience with people management, documentation team leadership, or documentation program management
+ Demonstrated record of improving customer experiences (both internal and external)
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
+ Experience working in teams distributed around the world
+ Passion for and experience promoting change and continual improvement
+ Experience with agile software development
+ Familiarity with Red Hat's enterprise solutions portfolio and related industry offerings
+ Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, technical communications, or something closely related, or equivalent experience within the enterprise IT sector
+ Familiarity with the open source development model and open source software solutions is a plus
+ Familiarity with enterprise Java and cloud technologies in the enterprise sector is a plus

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
