In-Home Residential Counselor- (Westford, MA)

May Institute is an award-winning nonprofit organization that provides educational, rehabilitative and behavioral healthcare services to individuals with autism spectrum disorder, developmental disabilities, brain injury and other behavioral health needs.
The May Institute is currently seeking In-Home Residential Counselors to assist a young adult with developmental disabilities in Westford, MA.
As an In-Home Residential Counselor, you will be providing 1-on-1 support and behavioral health services to an individual served at their home and in the community. This in-home setting is unique in that the client's family lives on-site in a separate part of the house and is highly involved with the individual. The individual attends an off-site day program, so In-Home Residential Counselors would provide support during the afternoon/evening hours.
An ideal candidate would be able to provide highly focused attention and support to an active and energetic client who loves community outings and activities. This individual enjoys attending sporting and live music events and has an enthusiastic affinity for entertainment in general so candidates able to provide support for these types of outings are preferred. This client is typically staffed 2 (staff)-to-1 in the home and community to assure adequate support.
The current schedule for this position is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 3:00pm-7:00pm with the potential to pick up morning, night and weekend hours as employees become more acquainted with the individual. This is a perfect opportunity for current employee's looking to add extra hours to their schedule or external applicants looking for a unique schedule. This is an hourly position with a pay rate of $18.00/hr.

Responsibilities
Implementation of behavioral interventions using a naturalistic approach (i.e., natural environment teaching)
Skill development and community integration
Accompanying and supervising individual-served during community outings and activities
Participating in the development of ISP objectives and documenting consumer progress
Maintaining respectful and open communication with family members also living at individual's home
Desire to work collaboratively with other team members
Assisting individual with Activities of Daily Living, including personal care and nutritional needs
Dispensing medications
Qualifications
Ability to demonstrate proficient use of Applied Behavior Analysis
Previous behavioral experience strongly preferred
Proven ability to work both independently and in a team
Valid driver's license and at least 2 years' driving experience
Strong verbal and written communication skills
MAP Certification preferred
Ability to lift 50 lbs



Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
