About the Role:
Aquila is seeking a Systems Administrator to join our team in supporting one of the country's premier defense research organizations.
There are a few requirements for the position:
Must be a U.
S Citizen (Green Cards / Visas do not qualify)Willingness to undergo a comprehensive background investigation and maintain a personal security clearance.

)Reside within 100 miles of Lexington, Massachusetts.
What You'll Do:
The group's current research and development efforts focus on problems such as tracking and identification of newly launched satellites, tracking and discrimination of satellites in geosynchronous clusters, automated radar image exploitation, close approach monitoring and collision warning, applications of multi-sensor data fusion, and decision support.
The group is also developing a net-centric, service-oriented information system.
There is a need to support all of the infrastructure with a Systems Administrator.

Specify, design, implement, and test network and computer system configurations and upgrades in consultation with the staffDevelop, coordinate, and implement network security plans and measures in accordance with government and the facility's policiesIdentify system performance issues and assess user needs in order to recommend specific changes and upgradesPerform data backups and recoveries; assist staff with computer and network problems and tasksResearch and recommend commercial hardware and software products to meet project and group requirementsOrder hardware and software productsRenew software licenses to ensure continuity of serviceInteract with vendors, the facility's personnel, and other system administrators to coordinate procurements, installations, upgrades, and other services.

Bachelor's DegreeExperience with security plans (i.

Risk Management Framework), procedures, and compliance with DoD directive 8140 is highly desired.
Work experience in mission-critical environments is highly desirable.
Enterprise-level hardware and software applications like NetApp, Networker, Nagios, and Ansible.
Some working knowledge of programming languages such as Perl, python, C/C++, and scripting languages is desired.

Location:
This position involves working on location in Westford, Massachusetts at Millstone with occasional local travel to Lexington, MA.
This is a challenging position with direct involvement in maintaining the operational readiness of all three radar systems.
Work Schedule:
This position will be 100% onsite due to the nature of the work.
There may be some remote flexibility on a case-by-case basis but there are no regular remote days.
Clearance:
Candidates must have an active secret clearance with the ability to potentially obtain a TS/SCI in the future.
Travel:
This occasionally will involve call-ins during nights, weekends, and holidays due to power outages, or to provide mission-critical support/site emergencies.
This could occur several times a year.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
